Main Aim of the Training
To enhance the technical skills and competencies of staff on tax policy and international taxation.
Major Motivation
Increased international trade has led to emerging tax planning which exposes government revenue to risk. This requires government staff to be empowered with knowledge and technical skills on DTA’s (International Tax Treaties- ITT’s) and transfer pricing.
Outcome
Improved technical skills for negotiating of DTA’s (ITT’s) between Ethiopia and other countries; and enhanced capacity for combating revenue risk arising from transfer pricing.
Impact
Negotiation of DTA’s (ITT’s) that are in the interest of Ethiopia and better policing of multinationals doing business in Ethiopia so as to minimize loss of taxes.
